Sometimes, the best days are the ones where you stay close to home, but still feel the magic of discovery. At Cortijo Valverde, a perfect day unfolds naturally, between peace, sunshine, and a touch of adventure. 8:30 AM – Wake up with the hills The first light slips through your window. Birds are already singing, and the olive trees gently rustle in the breeze. There’s no alarm clock here, just the rhythm of nature and the promise of a new day. Step out onto your private terrace with a fresh cup of coffee or tea, everything you need is in your room. Breathe in the morning air and take in the peaceful views before breakfast calls. 9:00 AM – Long, lazy breakfast Your day begins with a generous breakfast served by us. Fresh bread, local cheeses, granola, fruit, yogurt, eggs made to order, plus good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Sit back, take in the view, and plan your perfect morning.
Explore Andalusia — cities, villages & coast all within easy reach One of the things we love most about Cortijo Valverde is its location. You're surrounded by peace and nature, yet within an hour you can be in buzzing cities, picturesque villages, or even dipping your toes in the Mediterranean. Looking for a day of exploring? Here are some of our favourite nearby adventures — all perfect for a spontaneous getaway. 1. Málaga – Culture, coast and city life (35 min) A vibrant mix of old and new. Wander through the historic centre, visit the Picasso Museum or explore the colourful street art in Soho. Enjoy lunch on a rooftop terrace or at a beachside. End the day with a sunset stroll along the marina.

You will need a vehicle for this accommodation. It offers a beautiful view of the stunning landscape and overlooks Álora, which can be reached by car in just a few minutes.

Stayed here for a few nights and had a wonderful time. The whole place was spotless, with lots of charming touches in the rooms. The pool was beautiful, and there are plenty of spots to sit and relax in the gardens. We had dinner here both nights and the food was delicious. I had a wonderful stay here and would wholeheartedly recommend it. The place is beautiful, cozy, and incredibly welcoming. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and it’s the perfect spot to truly unwind. At the same time, it’s close enough to Álora that you can easily head into town if you’re in the mood for a bit more activity or a night out. The balance between peace and accessibility is just right. I felt completely at home and will definitely be coming back!

Meet your new hosts — Vitto & Eva!🧡
After years of dreaming (and a lot of “what if’s” over drinks in Amsterdam), we finally did it: we packed up, moved to Spain, and became the proud new owners of Cortijo Valverde! Since March 21st, we’ve been knee-deep in paint, plans, and plant pots 🛠️🍀: getting our beloved B&B ready for YOU.
We both come from the hospitality world: events, boats, hotels, restaurants — you name it, we’ve done it. Eva studied Hotel & Event Management and worked and studied all over the world. Vitto was behind festivals and corporate events in Amsterdam, and pretty much every other kind of hospitality job you can imagine.
So why Spain? Why here? Well… Cortijo Valverde was the first B&B we visited. And somehow, it never left our minds. Every other place was “nice, but not this.” Add in the breathtaking charm of Andalucía (honestly, nothing compares), and the decision made itself. ☀️
We can’t wait to open our gates and welcome our first guests at the end of April! It’s a lot of hard work (and a bit of chaos), but our hearts are fully in it. 🧡
And let’s not forget Amy! 🐶 Our sweet 12 year old schnauzer made the big move too and has already found her favorite sunny nap spots. She is already waiting to greet you with tail wags and cuddles!
